Middlesex County, NJ Landfill Cells 6A, 6B and 6C

When the Middlesex County Utilities Authority in East Brunswick, NJ decided to build 3 landfill cells under one contract, it made for one of the largest geosynthetic material installations in the history of North America.  An ambitious schedule added to the degree of difficulty on this demanding project.

The General Contractor, Vollers Excavating & Construction, Inc. needed a subcontractor with the expertise, financial ability, manpower and equipment to handle the lining installation subcontract.  Vollers chose Atlantic Lining Co., Inc. (ALCO) to furnish and install this $7,500,000 plus, nearly 13,000,000 SF job.   Atlantic Lining Co., Inc. performed a remarkable job, according to Charles Rabens, Project Manager for Vollers, meeting every scheduled milestone, installing an average of 110,000 SF a day for the 118 day duration of the project..  Quality was also exceptional with the project exhibiting zero leaks during a third-party electrical leak location survey.
